The Creation of Afternoon Tea

The creation of Afternoon Tea, is credited to a lifelong friend of Queen Victoria, Anna Maria Russell, 7th Duchess of Bedford in 1840. Afternoon Tea was said to satiate her when she felt peckish during the long wait between lunch and dinner. Chocolate Secrets continues this thoroughly English tradition. Afternoon Tea is traditionally served at 3 pm.

The Dallas Tea Room

The Dallas Tea Room follows the traditional combination of sweet and savory selections made from only the finest ingredients. The menu includes an assortment of tea sandwiches, blueberry scones (served warm), house made pastries, clotted cream and handcrafted raspberry confiture.

The Creation of The Dallas Tea Room

The Dallas Tea Room at Chocolate Secrets is credited to the wonderful  friendship between Chocolate Secrets founder, Pam G. Eudaric, and Enjoy founder, Suzanne Palmlund.

The Tea

Of course, at the heart of the experience is the tea itself. Chocolate Secrets offers a variety of flavors, from Organic English Breakfast to the refreshingly complex Chocolate Secrets blends.

Our Tea is served on white linens, and the very finest bone china and silverware.

Tea Sandwiches

CUCUMBER TEA SANDWICHES

Cucumber slices tossed in salt, pepper, lemon juice, and olive oil with a smear of mint butter and as per

tradition, it comes on a soft, house-made, white bread, recalling  the time when white bread was a culinary

sensation thanks to 19th century milling techniques.

CHICKEN SALAD TEA SANDWICHES

Pulled rotisserie chicken tossed in cayenne aioli.

SMOKED SALMON TEA SANDWICHES

Smoked salmon and spiced cream cheese.

DEVILED EGGS

Our Secrets deviled egg recipe, with smoked paprika garnish.

.

Note: You might notice there is always a consistent balance between the thickness of the bread and the filling in our sandwiches, so that the filling is the same depth as the carefully sliced bread. Unlike bread sliced for toasting, ours is laterally sliced so that it retains its shape, and is a pleasure to look at and eat.
